Brookwood V.P. Promoted to Chief Operating Officer
Female Executive Named to Provide Leadership

BIRMINGHAM – April 25, 2003 – Brookwood Medical Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Neeysa D. Biddle to chief operating officer of the 586-bed comprehensive healthcare facility.

A veteran in the health care field, Biddle has been with Brookwood Medical Center since 1997, and most recently served as vice president of operations. Biddle began her career at Marshall Medical Center in north Alabama as the director of medical records. While at Marshall Medical Center, Biddle was promoted to the position of director of marketing, research and planning. She also has served as vice president of ambulatory services for Eastern Health System, Inc. and chief executive officer of practice management for Tenet HealthSystem. Biddle replaces Gary L. Gause, who was recently promoted to president and chief executive officer at Brookwood Medical Center.

"We were fortunate to have someone of Neeysa’s ability already on staff to assume this vital role at Brookwood Medical Center," said Gause. "I am confident that Neeysa will continue to provide the valuable leadership she’s demonstrated in her previous roles at our facility."

Biddle earned an undergraduate degree in allied health and a master of science degree in health administration from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

" I am pleased to be a part of the dynamic management team of Brookwood Medical Center," said Biddle. "We will continue to focus on delivering high quality patient care, as well as achieving high levels of patient, physician and employee satisfaction."
