Brookwood Medical Center Names New Chief Development Officer
Brookwood Medical Center is pleased to announce Sheila O. McKenna as its new Chief Development Officer. McKenna assumed her post in January. Ms. McKenna has a long history with Brookwood, where she started her healthcare career as an Oncology Product Line Manager and an administrative resident. More recently, McKenna has worked as a consultant for Brookwood on development projects including the partnership with Dr. Swaid N. Swaid to bring a CyberKnife to Birmingham, and other hospital and physician joint ventures.
From 1989 – 2003, Ms. McKenna served as a Vice President of Corporate Development for HealthSouth Corporation, where she was a member of a national team responsible for growing the HealthSouth network to all 50 states through acquisition and de novo development of ambulatory surgery centers, outpatient physical therapy centers and diagnostic imaging centers.
Ms. McKenna received both her B.S. degree and her MSHA from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
