The Kaye Dahle Lactation Center offers a variety of programs and services to support our patients. Some of the services include:

 • Consultations with a certified lactation consultant during and after your stay at the hospital 
 • Breastfeeding Helpline
 • Best Start Mother Support Groups  
 • Breast Pumps available for rent or purchase 
 • Nursing Bras and Fittings
 • Helpful Accessories and Items for Breastfeeding and Pumping
 • Educational Materials

Best Start Mother Support Groups

Many mothers find they need additional information and support to successfully enjoy their breastfeeding experience. Providing this information and support is the purpose of the breastfeeding support group, Best Start. The Kaye Dahle Lactation Center sponsors a group at the following times and locations:

Mondays 10 am - 12 pm
Brookwood Outpatient Therapy and Wellness Services
Gold's Gym, Classroom A
Vestavia
Hwy 31 Behind CVS Pharmacy

Tuesdays 10 am - 12 pm
First Baptist Church of Trussville
128 North Chalkville Road
Bride's Room

Tuesdays 1 pm - 3 pm
The Church at Brookhills
3145 Brook Highland Parkway
From Hwy 280, turn east onto Highway 119

Thursdays 11 am - 1 pm
First Baptist Church

Alabaster

Any mother is welcome to visit a group. It is an informal setting where mothers share information and ideas for solving problems and celebrating successes. A Lactation Consultant is present at every meeting to answer questions and facilitate the group. Digital scales are available for weighing babies.
