Brookwood Women's Medical Center
1988, we built Alabama’s first hospital for women. We recognized that women’s health care needs change throughout their lives. From perinatal care for high-risk pregnancies and one-on-one nursing in labor and delivery to digital mammography and dedicated women’s surgery suites, our patients are treated by compassionate physicians and staff in a facility that understands women’s health care.
Our dedicated women’s medical center is connected to the main hospital and to the Women’s Medical Plaza, a seven-story physician office building with over 40 physicians specializing in the obstetrical and gynecological care of women.
Brookwood Women's Medical Center recently underwent renovations. The suites were professionally decorated by well-known Birmingham interior decorator, Richard Tubb. The rooms include custom cabinetry, flat screen televisions, all new furnishings and fixtures, artwork, and special new sleeper sofas for fathers and family members.

Save time by pre-registering before your hospital admission
Pre-Registration may save time and helps to streamline the admission process when you arrive at the hospital to have your baby or surgical procedure. When you come in for a doctor’s visit or attend a class, you may want to stop by the Women’s Admitting Office in the Women’s Lobby and fill out your preadmission paperwork. You may also pre-register online at bwmc.com—click on the “Hospital Pre- Registration” link in the top left section on the home page.
