Dedicated High Risk Unit
If concerns arise during your pregnancy, your doctor may require periods of bed rest. In the case of serious complications during pregnancy, Brookwood has a dedicated patient unit designed specifically for the care of high-risk pregnancies.
The Perinatal Unit is staffed with qualified, caring nurses who have specialized training in high-risk pregnancies. You'll be cared for in a comfortable, private room with amenities such as cable television, Wi-Fi access and room service.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Brookwood’s Level III, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is staffed with board-certified neonatologists, neonatal respiratory therapists, and registered nurses who are certified in infant CPR, drug intervention, and advanced life support. Brookwood also offers a Neonatal Transport Service to newborns who were delivered at another hospital, but require the resources available at our NICU after birth.
Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist
Brookwood’s Maternal-Fetal Physician, Antonio González, M.D., is board-certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. With 20 years experience in high-risk obstetrics, Dr. González may consult with your doctor, co-manage or provide direct care for you, depending on your particular situation.
