At Brookwood, we provide a unique environment in which every step in the process – labor, delivery and recovery – has a designated area and staff specifically trained to serve you and your individual needs. We work with you and your doctor to develop a personalized birth plan, ensuring you and your baby the healthiest delivery possible in an environment where you feel most comfortable. 

q     One-on-One Nursing - During labor and delivery, a nurse will be assigned to you and will stay with you in a spacious, private suite that provides a soothing, comfortable environment for labor and delivery. You can be assured that when you have a question or need attention, you won't have to wait until your nurse finishes with another patient. We strongly encourage skin-to-skin contact between mom and baby immediately after delivery. Research has shown this approach provides a host of health benefits to your newborn.

q     Dedicated Anesthesia Coverage – Rather than waiting for someone to arrive from the main hospital, we have our own anesthesiologists who are ready when you are to best serve you and your baby.

q     Labor and Delivery Suites – Our suites are designed specifically for the labor and delivery process with fetal monitoring and specialized staff available to you and your baby. Once baby arrives, you will recover in a mother and baby suite. The rooms include custom cabinetry, flat screen televisions, all new furnishings and fixtures, artwork, and special new sleeper sofas for fathers and family members.

q     Cesarean Births - If your doctor determines a Caesarean birth is necessary, three dedicated surgery suites are located on the labor and delivery unit. To ensure Caesarean-delivering moms stay connected with their newborns, we provide a feature called the BabyCam which offers you a unique opportunity to keep a close eye on your baby in the minutes after birth.
