The Inner Path is a short-term outpatient program designed for adults experiencing mental health issues that interfere with their ability to function in daily life. Partial hospitalization is for those that do not require an inpatient stay, but who would benefit from more intensive therapy than what is available during outpatient therapy. Many patients transition from hospitalization into this program, while others are able to avoid hospitalization altogether through this treatment option. Participants benefit from returning home in the evenings, maintaining important connections to family, friends, and community.

What is the Partial Hospitalization Program?
For many patients, PHP may help prevent the need for inpatient treatment or provide a less restrictive treatment option for patients discharging from the hospital. This creates the opportunity to practice new skills and promote confidence, independence and develop positive changes. Each patient participates in a psychiatric evaluation, clinical assessment and treatment. Weekly treatment team meetings take place to review each patient’s ongoing progress and treatment, as well as plan for care after discharge.
The Inner Path office is open 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Patients participate Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. For more information, call (205) 877-5454. Most insurance plans accepted. If you would like to make a referral to The Inner Path program, download the Inner Path referral form. Please fax your completed form to 205-877-2565.
