St. Joseph's Hospital earns rehab program accreditation

Peer review and on-site survey affirms rehabilitation services provide measurable quality

TUCSON (Jan. 15, 2019) – The Inpatient Rehabilitation program at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital has received three-year accreditation from CARF International, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

The program includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, rehabilitation nursing, rehabilitation psychology, social work, and orthotic and prosthetic consultation.

Rehabilitation services at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital are personalized for each individual, designed to help patients and their families understand their recovery plan and provide one-on-one education, said Teri Flanagan, PT, director of Rehabilitation Services.

Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital earned the accreditation following a rigorous peer review process. A team of surveyors visited the hospital to verify that its rehabilitation services are measurable, accountable and meet CARF quality standards.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities that establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
