TUCSON (Feb. 21, 2019) – Carondelet Health Network is the official Volunteer Sponsor for the 2019 Cologuard Classic PGA TOUR Champions tournament. It is the second year of Carondelet volunteer sponsorship for the event hosted by the Tucson Conquistadores.
“Carondelet Health Network understands the value of community volunteers and we’re proud to be supporting those who help with this signature event for Tucson,” said Carondelet CEO Mark Benz.
“Volunteering is a rewarding experience, whether in our hospitals or on the golf course, and volunteers serve as a vital resource,” said Benz. “We appreciate those who give their time and knowledge to help organizations that benefit residents of Southern Arizona.”
Approximately 600 volunteers will play an integral role in staging Tucson’s premiere golf event. They are assigned to a variety of responsibilities needed to successfully conduct a PGA TOUR Champions event. Tournament volunteers assist with administrative duties, hospitality, operations, security and media center support.
Carondelet Health Network will host an information booth in the tournament expo area. Attendees can receive health information and learn about the stroke and neurosciences, orthopedic, cardiovascular and emergency service provided by Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital and Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital.
The tournament is held Feb. 27-March 3 at the Omni Tucson National Resort, with proceeds benefiting local youth charities.
